Today
Summer didn't last long. Just the one day!Back to wet and cold as usual. Those April showers I guess.Received a call from Adam (Adam Lyons) Number 1 son.He wanted to show me that he had got his brother Sir Terry Lyons the Number 1 spot on Google search. Is Adam or is he not an expert in the role of a public relations expert as well as all other fields he enters?
Well the Google heading was actually entitled King of Swaziland but there was the King literally knighting Sir Terry Lyons.
Went to Maplins and bought a slimline external combo player for my new netbook. Does the job and looks neat although it is black matt against my shiny pink netbook. Why am I so impatient?I guess I'm one of those "must have it now" people.
Must admit to having a low boredom threshold or should that be high?Dunno really it's just that I get bored easily and have to do something to keep my mind busy.
Forget about getting my hands busy and doing housewoork. It's boring!
Tonight's dinner is cow's balls.Well actually beef meatballs and a tomato sauce at a reduced price in Waitrose. I love Waitrose. Will have my balls with Baby Jersey Royal new potatoes. I just lurve these tatties, boiled in minted water and smothered in loads of butter. No other veg but do have somesalad left over which I will prepare Greek Style with Feta cheese. Yummy time.
Yesterday
A beautiful sunny day and I got a good four hours of it just hanging out around the coffee bars on Edgware Road or as it is known by some as
Saudi High Street.Since my son has now bought a house in Texas and will eventually invite me to live there, I thought it a good idea to start offloading some of the junk that I have amassed in 4 years of living in my flat.
Sad to say, I am an inveterate hoarder. I am one of those who thinks "this'll come in handy one day" and more often than not, it never does.Thinking that I will not be able to take my chunky laptop, I decided to sell it as I have my eye on one of the new netbooks.Bloody shop on Edgware Road offered me £50.00 for my current lappy, it cost me £499 in Woollies a few years back.I could not press too hard for a better deal as it only had 256mb of Ram and just 40gig HD. I eventually got the offer up to £70 and reluctantly accepted it.
Passing a shop on Oxford Street, I was ensnared by an offer of a "FREE" netbook with a moby contract. So desperately wanting a lappy, I could take to the States, I signed up with O2 for a £30pm contract. So the offer was for a pink or white LG machine. with a gig of RAM and 160 of HD memory. This looked good.So I was ushered downstairs to sign the umpteen pages and hang around till all the checks and paper work was done. Then came the news that they only had the netbook in PINK!I love new techno toys and so wanted to take away the machine there and then, that I wound up with the gay version.
Rushed home to set it up to discover there was no Disc Drive. No wonder it was light. So it's now off to Maplin later today, to find a skinny external combo drive. Ah well!So not a bad day in all, got some rays and a new toy.
